I couldn’t even fathom asking a teacher for something by myself. My junior year of college, I decided to go abroad. I studied in London for a semester. I went completely by myself, I didn’t know anyone else, and I flew by myself. I’d never been to Europe; I’d never been further than Waterville alone, and I went across the ocean to England.”
