“I’ve worked in urban schools and I’ve worked in suburban schools in Massachusetts and Rhode Island areas. This particular school has a rural character to it, but it also has a homey feel to it. People here are so warm…. We clap for everyone at assembly. Down in Massachusetts the kids would not clap for everyone coming up to the podium, which is kind of rare. But it’s nice to see. There is a certain cohesion here during assemblies that creates a tremendous sense of warmth and community.”
